CATA Work Management Pilot

Background

Community Access to the Arts nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities through the arts. As a growing 501c3 nonprofit making the returnback to full in-person workshops, art exhibits, and more post-COVID, CATA was looking for a way to keep their growing team organized and productive without losing their sense of creative identity and culture. They turned to Impact Hacker for help.

“I have been a little obsessed for the last several months with this whole question of productivity and tech tools. I keep saying (to anyone who will listen) that there just HAS to be someone in the community who has both the tech-savvy and the core understanding of operations and collaborative practices to find the right solutions and teach the rest of us! I’m glad we found Impact Hacker!”

- Margaret Keller, Executive Director of CATA

Approach

After working with CATA and getting to know their team through a series of productivity workshops, we recommended CATA pilot a project management software for their upcoming annual Gala.

We took CATA through a discovery process to identify what tool(s) were best suited to their Gala use cases and team. The staff chose to move forward with organizing and managing the 4+ month-long project with Airtable.

We implemented a work management system within Airtable and trained CATA staff on the basics of the tool and the process to organize the GALA effort using milestones, Projects, sub-projects, and tasks.

After training the staff we provided regular check-ins, systems enhancements, and continuous education about Airtable and work management practices.

CATA was able to quickly and successfully adopt managing their GALA with the Airtable system we designed to organize and execute all of their work leading up to the GALA in an entirely new way.

Outcome
The project ultimately culminated in a memorable, sold-out GALA.
