Productivity, The Reaction Way

” Getting More of What You Want, And Less of what you don’t”

At Reaction, we believe productivity isn’t just about getting more done. In the era of digital technology, zillions of apps, and a constant barrage of notifications, clicking “done” on your tasks may feel like progress, but often times we’re simply completing to dos without making sure our actions reflect progress towards the reality we want for ourselves.

Your Purpose

“your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs

“The Greatest thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“Don’t mistake activity with achievement” – John Wooden

Before we can truly become productive, we have to have a clear and defined purpose for ourselves. At Reaction, we utilize The Foundation’s Yearly Visioning by Andy Drish to reflect what we’ve accomplished, and where we want to go.

Twelve hour days and midnight burners only work for so long. Without nourishing our body, our mind, and recharging, we’ll never reach our performance peak. We constantly upgrade the quality of our food, our environment, our sleep, and our mindset to set ourselves up for success.

Priority Management

“Time management is an oxymoron. Time is beyond our control, and the clock keeps ticking regardless of how we lead our lives. Priority management is the answer to maximizing the time we have.” –  John C. Maxwell

We take on new actions and projects on a 24 hour basis. Each day is a chess board where we have the opportunity to make decisions that can advance ourselves personally and professionally. Are you playing chess?

“A wise man adapts himself to circumstances, as water shapes itself to the vessel that contains it.” –Chinese Proverb

As the world around us changes, so do our priorities.

“It is only through failure and through experiment that we learn and grow.” — Isaac Stern

“The true method of knowledge is experiment.” — William Blake

You are your own experiment, and the only way to see what your truly capable of is to experiment often. Each week, we continuously look to improve by tinkering with our routines, our approaches, and our systems.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle

The backbone of are our work output lies in our habits. Building reliable habits is key to increasing your effectiveness and reaching your goals.

“Technology gives us power, but it does not and cannot tell us how to use that power. Thanks to technology, we can instantly communicate across the world, but it still doesn’t help us know what to say.” –  Jonathan Sacks

When it comes to getting more of what we want, and less of what we don’t, technology is a double edged sword. We’ll teach you how to setup and optimize your workflows, notifications, and approach when using the latest technology and applications for personal and professional use.

“Creativity can be described as letting go of certainties.” – Gail Sheehy

Everything from the standard 8 hour work day, to the culture we create for ourselves is malleable. At Reaction, thinking outside the box isn’t a one off recommendation, it’s a way of life.
